A veteran broadcaster of “Democracy in Action”, Chief Isah Edime was in the morning of yesterday, in Egume, Dekina local government of Kogi State abducted from his house and killed.
Chief Isah Edime, sources said was not an astute politician and was not known to be involved in any chieftaincy tussle.
A one time general manager of Radio Kogi and Benue, Chief Isah Edime produced “Democracy in Action” for Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Kaduna between 1979 and 19 83.
Findings revealed that the incident may not be unconnected with leadership of Egume Ome descendant union power tussle which has been lingering for some time now in the community.
It was also learnt that as a traditional ruler, Egena Attah Igala, Chief Isah Edime had towering influence in the union’s long standing dispute over who leads the community which allegedly had political undertone.
Sources also said that Mohammed Attai Wada who was killed at same time with Chief Isah Edime was at one time the leader of vigilante group in the community and was alleged to have had so much power in the community because of his position as the former chairman of the vigilante group.
This was alleged to have brought him in collision course with the community which allegedly recognises the leadership of one Mohammed Abdul
Police authority led by the commissioner of police, Mr Seidu Madawaki has promised that the perpetrators of the heinous crime would be arrested.
