Again, Boko Haram Kills 17 In JTF Commander’s Home Town

Members of Boko Haram have again struck in Borno state, this time at Dabiro the hometown of the newly promoted commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force, Major General Bata Dabiro.

It would be the third time the area would be attacked by the insurgents according to residents.

The Street Journal learnt that the militants on arriving the town last night began to shoot sporadically, killing about 17 people while injuring many others.

According to reports, the insurgents retreated momentarily and returned later while those affected were burying their dead relations, an in the process killed more people.


Usman Malgana, who spoke with our Correspondent from the General Hospital in Biu confirms that lot less than 26 people where killed during the Boko Haram attack, while 20 are currently receiving treatment at the hospital with doctors battling to save their lives.

The Islamic sect has intensified their attacks against Borno state since the inauguration of Muhammadu Buhari as President, whereas the relocation of the Military Command center in Maiduguri.

Residents of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital said the insurgents had struck in the state several times within the period Buhari took over as President.

One of them said the Insurgents had launched more than 100 attacks at different locations in a manner suggesting that they were ready to test the will power of the new government in Nigeria.
