Severed Head of Motorcyclist Discovered in Auchi

Who is behind the killing of a motorcycle, simply identified as Clement, whose corpse was found by the road, in Auchi, Edo State, Tuesday? Who pulled the trigger?

These are the questions the police in Auchi, Etsako West local government area of Edo state, are working hard to unravel.

The killing of the victim, whose severed head was a little distance away from the body, is causing ripples in the town that houses a Federal Polytechnic.

The motorcycle of the victim was also found by the road side.

The discovery has however raised questions as to what may have caused his death.

While some residents in the area attributed his death to a hit and run vehicle, others are of the opinion that the cyclist may have been murdered by cultists

The Auchi Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Moses Bature, who confirmed the incident, said the corpse has been deposited at the mortuary, adding that the cause of the death was yet to be ascertained.

“We didn’t see any vehicle in that place. We cannot say whether it was a hit and run and any other thing.

“People said they saw the headless body in the morning and they called the police. It was the police that called us.‎ The family came and identify the body,” Bature said.
